Obama or TOTUS Deletes Mention of Creator

Yesterday I posted on the importance of ascribing our rights as having come from God. I argue that this is foundational to our concepts of liberty. Right on cue, The President left out mention of the Creator in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute when he quoted the Declaration of Independence' most famous line. I am always reluctant to jump to conclusions, so you should watch the clip yourselves. Skip ahead to about the 21:30 mark, but if you have no patience, go straight to 22:30.

Now the most charitable explanation is that Obama was ad-libbing and muffed the quote. Another explanation might be that it's all the TOTUS' fault. Worst possible explanation? The TOTUS had it right but the President was worried about offending atheists. Note in the previous couple of minutes he slings some ahistorical multicultural hash about different peoples sharing the land. No matter what the explanation, it means that he is not familiar enough with the most recognized text of our founding to avoid the mistake.

Normally I wouldn't make a big deal of this, but it feeds suspicion about the leftist mind set of the President.

  1. Since everything Barry says must be vetted by TOTUS, I blame TOTUS.

Don't you love how TOTUS just sort of looms over the President for the entire speech? His handlers/optics people are the absolute worst!
