Pray for the President's Safety

Mrs. Daddy and I feel strongly moved by the Holy Spirit, we believe, to pray for the safety of President Barack Obama while he gives his speech in Cairo on Thursday. Whatever your faith, we ask you to join us in praying for the safety of our President.

  1. The most powerful humans in the world still are limited to the boundaries of their own humanity. They can send a soldier into battle, but cannot guarantee a safe return. They can provide educational benefits for the masses, but they cannot guarantee every student will succeed. They can provide economic opportunities, but they can not change a selfish heart to rid it of greed. None of us has any power, except that it comes from God, and a president only can be a steward of that which God has entrusted him.

We should pray for our new president, but we should not expect too much of any mere mortal. Faith in humanity may be noble, but ultimately it is our faith in God that will sustain us. For the real seat of power is not in the oval office, Wall Street, the United Nations, Beijing or the Kremlin.

Ultimately, the real power is in the hands of God. And in the end, those who wield any type of power on earth will give an account to him. May God bless our new president, and may God bless America.
